Reliance Mobile has long been notorious for their inefficiency and poor quality service. This time the person affected was model-actress Sandhya Mridul who played an important character in Madhur Bhandarkar's Page 3 and has also starred in Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye, Socha Na Tha, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II and Saathiya.

Sandhya Mridul according to a report in city tabloid Midday was threatened to pay up for calls she never made even after she had already disconnected her Reliance landline connection

Sandhya Mridul never imagined that signing up for a Reliance landline connection would give her so much stress. The actress is furious with the company's customer service agents for not attending to her problems, and also aggravating her woes by sending her bills for a line that's been disconnected.

Sandhya says, "I was previously using a Reliance landline connection which stopped working after 10 days. I personally visited the Webworld outlet at Lokhandwala and was shocked to see many other customers discussing the same problem.
The behaviour of the staff there was appalling. They not only turned a deaf ear to my problem but asked me to drive all the way to town with my instrument to change it or get it disconnected."

Billing problems

The actress even wrote a letter to Reliance officials stating her problems. "I was furious because they kept sending me bills after bills even after my line was not functioning. These men who landed up at my door were threatening and rude. On days when I would be traveling outdoor for shoots, my mom had to answer to them."

After being fed-up with constant phone calls, and people landing up at her doorstep, Sandhya decided to make a full and final settlement and close the issue. "I was told that if I paid half the amount, my account would be closed once and for all. So I did that in spite of not even using the air time for which I was charged."

Just when she thought her troubles had come an end, the problem snowballed into something bigger. "I should have learnt my lesson and stayed away from Reliance. But my computer guy insisted that I get myself an Internet chip that would let me surf wherever I go. To my horror that too stopped working in 10 days and I was again billed for a time period that I never used. Then again they started sending me bills for my old landline number that I thought was closed. This is the most ridiculous service I have ever received in my entire life." Being a celebrity, she says the issue can be highlighted.

"I hope my voice is heard along with the other innumerable customers who too have been facing similar problems. My demand is that they get their customer service act together and stop harassing people with bills they shouldn't be paying."
