Jodhpur: Salman Khan will have to spend at least one more night in jail after a Rajasthan court on Wednesday fixed Thursday for hearing his bail application.
Khan's counsel had filed the application for bail on Wednesday in the district and sessions court after the chief judicial magistrate's court here Monday sentenced Khan to five years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him for poaching a chinkara in Jodhpur on the night of Sep 28, 1998.
Khan was found guilty under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act.
The actor will have to spend another 24 hours in the Jodhpur central jail where he already has spent two nights.
