New Delhi : Employment News, the flagship publication of Publications Division has become on-line. The website of premier weekly on employment related information, www.employmentnews.gov.in, was launched by Shri S. K. Arora, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting today. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arora said that with the availability of on-line edition of Employment News, the tech savvy youth of the country would be able to get the latest information on vacancies in Government Departments and PSUs at the click of a mouse. Shri Arora said that the Ministry is examining whether private sector related employment information could also be included in Employment News. He further said requests have been received from various newspapers to allow some of the content of this journal to be re-printed in the local newspapers. Shri Arora complimented the Publications Division for making Employment News self-sustaining despite low pricing. He expressed the hope that the readers of Employment News would be able to interact through on-line medium with Employment News and receive a faster response to their queries to Government vacancies and careers.

The weekly carries information/advertisements for jobs in Central and State Governments, PSUs, Universities, foreign Institutions etc. Admission notices for professional courses, examination notices and result of organisations like UPSC, SSC and other general recruitment bodies and mid-level career promotion opportunities (deputation). In addition to this, there is also an Editorial segment containing articles on conventional as well as emerging fields and self-employment opportunities.

Director, Publications Division, Shri Uma Kant Mishra in his remarks said that the website of Employment News will have a career guidance series through which readers queries to various career options would be addressed. In fulfillment of our commitment towards providing better services by using state-of-the-art, efforts would be made to make Employment News the single window through which all the jobs/career requirements of the youth relating to Government jobs of the country will be met, said Shri Mishra.

General Manager-cum-Chief Editor, Shri Ghanshyam Goel thanked the media personalities and guests for their participation. Shri Goel said that Employment News would continue to live up to the expectations of the youth of the country who have patronized the career weekly for the last thirty years.
