A local court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against film producer, JP Dutta for wrongly displaying the national flag over coffins in the film LoC Kargil.

The warrant was issued by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Narendra Jain on a petition filed by Ravi Atrolia, the Convenor of the organisation Tiranga Abhiyan'.

Earlier, the court had issued bailable warrants against Dutta in the case, but he had obtained a stay from the High Court. However, the High Court later dismissed his application following which Dutta was supposed to appear in the court on Monday. When Dutta failed to do appear in court, arrest warrant was issued against him.

The Abhiyan has alleged in its complaint under Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, that in the film Dutta had wrongly displayed the national flag over the coffin of the soldiers, thereby insulting the tricolour.

The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for May 24.
