New Delhi: Friends, cronies and supporters of the Shahi Imam today attacked media outside the Prime Minister’s Office where Shahi Imam had gone to visit Prime Minister.
It all began when Shahi IMam was asked a question regarding reservation in Mandal Commission report for backward Muslims. Instead of answering the question,
Shahi Imam retaliated, angry at some reports on a TV channel about the Jama Masjid blasts. The focus of his wrath was Yusuf Ansari of Zee TV.
Imam’s supporters got enraged and tried to box Yusuf Ansari, then threw a mike at him and other things over the barricade. They also, allegedly, manhandled several other TV photographers and reports. A TV channel has reported that they also manhandled and misbehaved with a woman reporter. It looked like a scene from jhopadpati where everyone was seen shouting, screaming and hurling abuses. While leaving, the Imam and his party’s almost drove over the media people present there.
An FIR is being lodged and Police have been urged to take necessary action against the miscreants.
