Guru, produced and directed by Mani Ratnam, brings together once again Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Guru is rumoredly based on the life of late tycoon, Dhirubhai Ambani. So much so that Mukesh Ambani is believed to be keen on watching Guru before it hits the marquee, to know exactly how Dhirubhai’s character has been portrayed. Though feelers have been sent to Mani Ratnam for a private screening for the Ambanis, Mani Ratnam is determined to keep his film under wraps till it is released on December 29.
The Ambani clan is known to love movies and have a large theatre in their home itself.
In Guru, Abhishek Bachchan plays Dhirubhai and Aishwarya Rai plays Kokilaben. Madhavan plays Abhishek’s right hand man and Vidya Balan, his lady love. Arya Babbar plays Aishwarya's brother who is almost like a son to Abhishek. Arya Babbar’s character is shown to betray Abhishek. Abhishek and Aishwarya have unlike Dhirubhai Ambani, they have twins.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have earlier been paired together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Na Kaho and Umrao Jaan.
All three movies flopped miserably. Hopefully, Guru will break the jinx. |
