Sanjay Khan today is known as father of Zayad Khan and father-in-law of Hrithik Roshan. He has retired from acting but his influence is visible.
Feroz Khan was followed into the industry by his brothers: Abbas Khan, Akbar Khan and Sameer Khan. Abbas changed his name to Sanjay Khan. He acted in several successful films like 'Ek Phool Do Mali', 'Inteqaam', 'Dus Lakh', 'Dillagi', 'Dil Ne Pukara' and many others. However, except for his good looks, Sanjay was unimpressive. B.R Chopra's 'Dhund' came as a windfall for him. A suspense film inspired by 'Rebecca', this film of Sanjay and Zeenat Aman also started their involvement, which continued, as he became a producer with 'Chandi Sona'.
There were stories that he married Zeenat Aman followed by an incident, in public at Taj Mahal Hotel’s lounge, in which he bashed her up so badly that Zeenat Aman almost lost her eye. The scars remain even after cosmetic surgery. The immediate provocation was her rumoured relationship with Nusli Wadia.
Sanjay Khan later began making TV serials. His first venture was 'Tipu Sultan'. During its production there was a major fire on its set, which caused the loss of some lives and property. Sanjay himself came close to death, but survived after a long struggle in hospital. He persisted and completed the serial and later, made more serials too.
