It Is a thriller revolving around the myth of Holy Grail. The curator of the Louvre in Paris dies in mysterious circumstances leaving behind some clues and codes. Robert Langdon, a Harvard cryptologist is called upon to solve the mystery of the curator's death. Incidentally all the clues are hidden in Leonardo Da Vinci's works of art. The French detectives think that Langdon had something to do with the curator's death. However curator's granddaughter Sophia comes to Langdon's help and together they get down to deciphering the codes left behind by the curator and discover the truth. It is a bloody trail of discovery that involves secret cults, and unknown but startling facets of the Christian history. Finally the truth behind the myth of the Holy Grail is discovered by Langdon.

It is a first class cinematic adaptation of Dan Brown's controversial and bestselling novel. Those who have read the novel will enjoy the film. It is a lavisly mounted production which mixes period visuals with modern day reality very effectively. The director Ron Howard has done an excellent job of mixing fiction with facts and creating a thriller that holds yourinterest till the end. The film excels in all technical areas. All actors including Oscar winner Tom Hanks, have done very well.It is one of the better and more entertaining films that have come out of Hollywood in recent times.

It is a film for the discerning, better informed, and well read audiences. Even the serious film buffs will appreciate the film for Its taut screenplay and technical values. However, the Hindi adaptation of the film may not do so well. The pre-release controversy about the film may help it do well in multiplexes.
