Raj (Kapel Jhaveri) and Kajal (Salloni) meet and fall in love in South Africa and inform their parents (Ranjeet and Prem Chopra respectively) in Mumbai, about it. They approve of the liaison. In between a heart-broken man (Salman Khan) appears, who has lost his lady love and is dejected. He is blessed with an unusual divine power of predicting the future. One day, he rescues Kajal from a near-fatal accident. He then predicts her father's demise. All his predictions come true and finally one day he predicts Kajal's death too. Will he able to save her this time around?
Saawan Kumar and Salman Khan team had delivered a huge hit in 'Sanam Bewafaa' many years ago.
So expectations were high. But the story line is wafer-thin and narrated unconvincingly. There is no excitement. In the latter part, the narrative goes haywire. In one scene, the heroine's father dies and soon after, you find her dancing and prancing with her beau in Dubai ! The action scenes involving Salman could also have been handled with more panache. One did not expect a veteran like Saawan Kumar to be so casual while canning such scenes.
Production values are good. Technically, competent. But the script lacks innovative flourish. Dialogue are fair. Musically, Tu bula le', 'Saawan the love season' and 'Punjabi aankhon wali' are well composed. Cinematography is of standard. But action is ordinary. Performancewise, Salman Khan tries to salvage the proceedings with his intense portrayal. Kapel and Salloni do well. Johny Lever and Bobby Darling provide some relief. Ranjeet and Prem Chopra leave their mark. Directoriaily, Saawan Kumar does an average job.
At the Box-Office, it disappoints.
