Darna Zaroori hai is a collage of six stories that are supposed to be scary. Each story has been directed by a different
director. Most of them are more funny than scary. The best of the lot is the first one with Manoj Pahwa and Sarita Joshi.
Manoj Pahwa performs better than most other actors in this movie. There is little else worth watching in this after the first story is over.

The worst story from these six is the one directed by Ram Gopal Varma himself With Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh. Amitabh Bachchan puts in a half hearted performance, perhaps in a hurry to catch his flight back. Apparently he completed the shooting for this movie in just one day and it shows! Bipasha Basu looks her sensual self and reminds you of 'Raaz' and her memorable performance in it. Anil Kapoor does a take off on Karan Johar, playing a film maker called 'Karan Chopra'. Anil Kapoor delivers as usual. Mallika Sherawat was completely dressed, so it took a few moments to recognise her. Rajpal Yadav is good to watch.

Sonali Kulkarni seems to be the permanently-in-bed heroine. She was shown in bed with Sanjay Dutt in Mission Kashmir, Nana Patekar in Taxi no 9211 and with Sunil Shetty in this movie! Irrresistible, wot?

There's a story about five kids and a haunted house which is well shot though quite predictable like the rest of the movie.
You'll find plots and sub plots borrowed from Ramu's own 'Darna Mana Hai'.

Production values are good. Technically, sound. Script is poor. Musically nothing worth mentioning. The cinematography is
excellent. Clearly people seem to smell a lousy movie because the movie hall was half empty.

Give this one a miss!
