Chander (Saahib) is simple and innocent photographer living in Nainital. Here he falls in love with Nirmala (Preeti Jhangiani). Nirmala is fed up with her aunty (Himani Shivpuri) as she wants her to sell her body. Chander does lot of sacrifices to make Nirmala an actress in Bollywood.
But he gets a surprise of his life when after reaching top her attitude changes.
The plot in not new. Numerous films have been made on this plot. The treatment also lacks innovation. Still, to be fair to the director, he has handled the subject honestly. Certain emotional and confrontation scenes have been canned very well. Also after a long time scenes of Nainital have been captured to its fullest. But at the end, predictable script doesn't help matters. Despite lack of big names, the producers have spent lavishly on the film.
Production values are good. Technically fair. Script is predictable. Dialogue are good at places. Musically, the title song is melodious. Cinematography is fair. Choreography is good.
Performancewise Preeti Jhangiani for the first time gets a huge role where entire the film revolves around her. And she does justice to it. She is particularly good in emotional scenes and also dances freely and without any inhibitions perhaps for the first time. Newcomer Saahib suits the role, but he is no hero material. Shakti Kapoor is good. Tej Sapru, Himani Shivpuri, Alok Nath lend able support. Directorially Mustafa Engineer does a fair job.
At Box-Office it will suffer due to lack of face value.
