Mahima, (Nushrat Bharucha) and Anurag (Rakesh Bapat) are ardent devotees of Santoshi Maa. Mahima's parents tQo are Santoshl Maa's devotees. Mahima and Anurag were married against the wishes of his family, and this sparked a bone-ofcontention between him and his family. Anurag is ridiculed by every member of his family. Though comparisons are bound to be made with the 1975 hit by the film of the same name; the director deserves praise for making an effort to make a mythological film. The story is the same but treated in a different manner which makes the film an entertaining viewing experience. The emotional scenes too have been handled sensitively.
Directorially Ahmed Siddiqui lives up to expectations. Performancewlse the lead pair Nushrat and Rakesh Bapat put In a convincing effort. Screenplay is good. Musically, one expected better compositions from Anu Malik.
Choreography is functional. At the box office, this family fare may go well with the audiences, particularly Santoshi Maa devotees.
