Avinash (Aaditya Srivastava) and Ali'ya (Vani Tripathi), though belonging to different religions, are intensely in love. At this point communal riots take place and they get separated. After a few years' gap they meet each other but while Avinash has become a police officer Aliya has turned to prostitution.Despite all odds Avinash decides to marry Aliya. But he has to pay aheavy price for that.Circumstances and evil forces make life difficult for the upright and honest police officer.
The film tries to touch the issue that could have happened with several people who were friends till communal riots broke out. However its not about the riots butthe fight of the police officer against the evil forces within the society. Director Shrirang who has won several awards for his Marathi film Pudhach Paul takes a hard-hitting subject and tries to make a purposeful film out of it. There are a number of scenes which leave an impact.Performances by all artistes are first rate. Dialogues are very hardhitting. However at times the film tries to cover too many things. Defeated end of the hero also won't gell well with the audience. It also sends a wrong message to society. Audience has accepted death of heroes when they played negative role but a positive, honest, brave hero gets defeated, is impossible to digest.Logically the film should have ended when Aaditya Srivastava kills Vijay Maurya. Too much realism doesn't help at times.
Production values are fair.Technically good. Script could have been better. Dialogues are brilliant. Musically the title song is haunting.Cinematography is competent.Action has' a realistic feel.
Pertormancewise AadityaSrivastava proves that he is an actor of top bracket.Vani Tripathi is good. Ashok Shinde impresses. Maithlly Jaaokar shines. ViJay Maurya is superb.Others lend excellent support.Directorlally Shrlrang has immense potential, however he will have to quickly learn the essence of commercial cinema. At the Box-Dffice, despite merit it lacks face value to make a mark.
