Ace writer Tanveer Khan made his debut with John Abraham - Bipasha Basu starrer 'Madhoshi' but it didn't work. However in this f~lm, the director shows a huge improvement and comes out with a final product which is absorbing from scene one to the last. If the first half is fast paced, the second half is high voltage emotional drama. The biggest plus of the film is its casting which is almost perfect.
Every character infuses life into the role, and helps the film move further. There are several scenes where the director leaves a lasting impact, and there is never a dull moment. Production values are fair. Technically, good. Script is very gripping. Dialogues are excellent. Camerawork is upto the mark. Background score is effective. Performancewise Irrfan Khan is terrific. Konkona Sen once again proves that she is superb, who has the ability to rise above the character etched out for her. Rajit Kapoor is elegant. Sandhya Mridul is her own confident self. And so is Zakir Hussain. Baby Princy Shukla gives a good account of herself.
Directorially, Tanveer Khan does a concise job. At the Box-Office, despite the film's merits, it may suffer due to low-key promotion, an unsual title and lack of face value.
