Priya Rajvansh

Chetan Anand, Dev's eldest brother, famous for his internationally acclaimed 'Neecha Nagar', launched a girl with an unusual face. She was Priya Rajvansh. Priya was a graduate in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London and this qualification created a lot of expectations when she was introduced in the Indo-Pak war film, 'Haqeeqat'. The film did well, reflected the mood of the people and Priya was impressive. Her unusual personality suited the Kashmiri girl she played. But not many offers came her way. Partly because of her personality, and partly because she was known to be the woman in the life of Chetan Anand.

Anand was smitten with her and he made more films with her in the lead. 'Haste Zakham', 'Heer Ranjha' and 'Hindustan ki Kasam' were some of them. 'Hanste Zakham', in which she played a call girl, established Priya's credentials as an actress. 'Heer Ranjha' further drew attention to her as the entire script of this film was lyrical. Priya might have gone places but she tied herself to Chetan, refusing to work with other film makers. In all she did seven films, and all with him.

After the death of Chetan Anand, Priya has been trying to get work.
