Sunil Dutt made 'Man Ka Meet' launch his brother, Som Dutt. Instead, two other faces emerged: Vinod Khanna and Leena Chandavarkar. Leena's initial films ('Rakhwala', 'Honey Moon', 'Mehboob ki Mehndi', 'Main Sundar Hoon' and 'Ek Kunwara Ek Kunwari') did not fare well, but her beauty and charm attracted film makers to sign her in more projects. 'Manchali' and 'Anhoni' established her bubbly image and she was chosen for an even bigger project with Dilip Kumar . The film was 'Bairaag'.
At the height of her career, Leena married Sidhartha Bandodkar, the son of Goa's Chief Minister. Sidhartha died in an accident and Leena found herself involved in a scandal. When the scandal died down, Leena found a mate in Kishore Kumar. She married him and had a son by him called Sumeet. After Kishore Kumar's death she lives with her stepson Amit Kumar.
