He lived in with Protima Oberoi (nee Dasgupta) for a year before she became Protima Bedi. They fathered two children: Siddhartha and Pooja. After some years, he walked out on her for Parveen Babi. After a romance of a couple of years, he married a minor actress from Hollywood, divorced her and tied the knot with Nikki Bedi. Siddhartha died in the US a few years ago, due to an overdose of drugs, and Protima Bedi died in a landslide in the Himalayas in 1998.
