Jaymala began with a super-duper hit of a mythological, 'Tirath Yatra' (1958). The concept was just right for the Indian audience: a devoted wife takes her husband, who is suffering from an incurable disease, to all the places of pilgrimage. Along with her, the viewers did the pilgrimage of all holy places in India. This film was produced by B.K Adarsh, the founding editor of 'Trade Guide', who later married his discovery.
Jaymala did over a dozen films with him and also several movies with the other film makers. The list of her films include 'Fashionable Wife', 'Ramu Dada', 'Harishchandra Taramati' and 'Durga Puja'. Her own favourite, ironically, was the title role of a female dacoit, 'Putli Bai'. More interesting is the fact that she played the lead in her home production's 'Gupt Gyan'. A sex-education film, 'Gupt Gyan' was a super-hit.
