Travel to Goa - A guide to Goa tourism, beaches, resorts and hotels

Baga beach in Goa

A stopover at the very popular Calangute beach is a must for all tour operators. But tourists on the lookout for something different need only walk north along this stretch of overcrowded sand to find a scene right out of a picture book. The beach at Baga is one of the most beautiful and scenic beaches in the north of Goa that has been left unspoiled, thanks largely to the presence of better-known beaches. This beach is part of a 30-km stretch of coastline along the coast of Goa, that few visitors know about, because of its more well-known and congested neighbour, Calangute.

Travelling within Goa

Goa has many beautiful places you can visit. The lovely beaches, churches built in the Portuguese era, quaint little villas, many charming architectural delights and so much more.

Travel to Goa - Calangute Beach

Calangute Beach is the most popular and populated beach in Goa. Tourists from all over the world come down here every year during December. There are many accomodation options here, from the cheapest inns to the relatively more expensive star-hotels. Alcohol is very cheap here, like in the rest of Goa. Beer, vodka, wine and of course Goa's own distinctive cashew feni and coconut feni are available at prices that are a fraction of the prices in Indian cities such as Mumbai and Delhi.

Visitng Goa during off-season

Tourist season is when everything in Goa is in full swing. Most shacks hotels and discos shut down for the monsoon, and re-open for the season. But recent years have seen these places open throughout the year to cater to the tourists who now visit all year round.
