Eklavya carrying mixed reports

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Eklavya - The Royal Guard' is carrying mixed reports says an industry source. The movie is very much focussed on Amitabh Bachchan's character and distributors aren't exactly tripping over their feet to buy the movie's distribution rights. As a result 'Eklavya' remains unsold in major territories even as its release is planned for this Friday.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, say industry sources is known to be an ardent Bachchan admirer and has spent the better part of two decades wooing him for a movie. Having got him finally at the nadir of his (Bachchan's) career, Chopra has made a movie revolving around him. Earlier disputes with distributors over the percentage of revenue sharing of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai', Chopra's last release aren't helping his cause either. So, 'Eklavya', a project that would have sold on announcement some fifteen years ago may be released by Chopra himself in many territories.
