Secondary Diabetes
'Secondary Diabetes' is used to describe
a host of other conditions that can give rise to diabetes.
In these cases, diabetes is secondary to another disease,
medication or chemical.
The causes of secondary diabetes include:
Pancreatitis, or inflammation of the pancreas
Pancreas removal
Adrenal or pituitary gland disorders
Certain medications, specially high blood pressure and cholesterol-lowering
drugs
Malnutrition
Infection
