Priyanka Chopra has shown that like the reputation of Kareena Kapoor as an utterly selfish woman her image of being a nice person is also right. Priyanka has stepped in to play the lead opposite Harry Baweja's son after Kareena walked out for reasons no one is talking about. The film is Love Story 2050. The dates are being worked out at this moment between producer Harry Baweja and Priyanka's secretary. Priyanka is doing the film though she knows that Kareena dumped it, and also when the costar is an untested son of the producer.
Mallika & burqa
 I always considered Mallika Sherawat a bad joke who was being taken a little too seriously because:
1) She was ready to reveal at the drop of a hat (or even before that).
2) She was giving quotable quotes a la her (once upon a time) Godfather Mahesh Bhatt in an industry where diplomacy prevents many of them to call a spade a spade.
3) Of late the standards in media and movies have fallen.
But I had a hearty laugh when I read that she wears burqa to avoid being mobbed. Personally speaking, she simply needs to be dressed not to be recognized. Does anyone remember her face?
Someone has mentioned Greta Garbo who, by remaining away from limelight created a mystery around her. Well, that was an entirely different thing. Rekha has tried that stunt but has only appeared silly.
Abhishek Marries Rani
Putting paid to his rumored liaison with Aishwarya Rai, in what may turns out to be the biggest Bollywood story of the year, Abhishek Bachchan has gone ahead and married his lady love Rani Mukherjee.
An unimpeachable source close to Bachchan revealed the dramatic happening of the midnight at Jalsa, Last night, as Aishwarya arrived at Jalsa she bumped into Rani Mukherjee who was just leaving. Ash was returning after a late night shoot and had arrived unannounced. Seeing Rani at that unearthly hour Ash flared up.
In a scene that further worsened when Jaya Bachchhan arrived and told Rani not to play a Rekha in the life of yet to get married Abhi and Ash, Abhishek suddenly rose tall. He openly snubbed his mother and said, “ Just because you do not like Rani, I am not going to betray her. Ash is your choice, Rani is my choice. I know that I cannot live without her. If I yielded to your pressure tactics my life will echo the life of dad. I do not want to begin my married life with a lie. I do not want to have a wife in the house and a second wife in some love nest. I dislike the idea of stolen hours, and hate Silsila kind of life.”
In a huff, Abhishek drove off along with Rani leaving behind his words, “We will get married tonight.”
Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee are believed to have tied the knot at the Arya Samaj Mandir, Khar located 4-5 km away from their home at Juhu.

Ritupurno Ghosh is making a modern version of Mahabharata. He has said that, "My Draupadi will be more real and it will be my interpretation from a filmmaker's perspective. The story of Mahabharat is known to everyone, but I have a specific vision in my mind which I wanted to convey through my film.”
Earlier Shyam Benegal has directed a film inspired by Mahabharata. It was his, modernized version. Shashi Kapoor produced this film. The title was `Kalyug`. However, that was a Hindi film. Ghosh is making an English film. Revealing what he thinks of the mythological character from Mahabharata Ritupurno has said, "I want my Draupadi to be dark and attractive. Not a sex symbol, but she had to possess the oomph factor. Bipasha has those qualities!”

SRK to Join Congress
The hard news can come any day!
Shah Rukh Khan is to officially join Congress and enter active politics. Samajwadi Party is out as far as SRK is concerned and the reason is Amar Singh. Remember the slanging match and the brawl between Amar Singh and Karim Morani at Dubai during the Zee awards function?
 When Singh and Amitabh Bachchan walked in, they were ushered to the 11th row.
Offended, both almost staged a walkout. ‘‘I lost my cool when Morani showed disregard for a person as great as Amitji.”
Subhash Chandra Goel apologized and got them placed right in front of the stage. But tension lingered. Shah Rukh, close to Moranis, called Amar Singh a goonda and there was a scuffle.
As a result of the bad blood between the two, Shah Rukh was stranded in Dubai as he was not invited to join Bachchan and Singh on the Ambani jet back to Mumbai, as originally scheduled. SRK returned by an Air-India flight.
[ I had SMSed a one liner joke: Now onwards Amar Singh and Amitabh Bachchan will carry two seats with them to all functions. Ironically, Amitabh did bring his own seat to Filmfare Awards function as he had to sit in his own bus as he is recuperating .]
Outwardly, a diplomatic SRK and a shrewd Amar Singh kissed and made up. But, privately, games have been played between the two groups.
BJP is too communal for SRK's liking.
As a result SRK has come closer to Gandhis.
Nehru-Gandhis are known for their fascination for the film stars and have also used them in politics. From the nomination of Prithviraj Kapoor, and Nargis to giving ticket to Nargis's husband Sunil Dutt and now, daughter Priya Dutt Congress has always roped in film stars. What with Amitabh's changed equations, SRK is more than welcome to Congress.
Moreover, due to his back problem, SRK may not be able to work as hard as he did. Politics will give him the much needed relief.
